Retracting Roof
The retracting roof is a convient product used at a ourdoor space. It covers sun, heat, rain, and snow providing pleasing experience to the user. The retracting roof functions as it is named, the roof will roll in and out with a simple click.
Overview
This was a rendered model of fully functioning retracting roof. The project was done for a client and the model was designed through Solidwork.
The retracting roof is comprised of metal bars, rollers, gears, motors, and bolts. The model was designed to be self standing product and it is capable of withstanding rain and snow to accomodate tough canadian weather
Request
The existing retracting roof offered limited options when choosing the size and design. The innovative retracting roof was designed bigger to accomodate more people as well as thicker frame and stronger material to extend the longevity of product life. The retracting roof is designed smart, the user can open and close the blind with a click of a button. The product can be extended by placing it side by side when accomodating larger group.
Material Testing
The material testing was conducted to check if each parts are capable to withstand certain circumstances. This was the last stage before the production of the product. It is a important stage to make sure all the parts are reliable when manufactured. The testing is done by applying pressure or temperature to a surface to visually see any changes that may occur to the product, if is deforms it needs to be revised, if not the parts are promising.
